As a student, what drew you to the field of Religious Studies?

I wanted to develop my analytical thinking and writing skills.  I was deeply drawn to the topics of ultimate meaning, spiritual seeking, and world cultures.

How has your expertise in Religious Studies helped you define and reach your career and personal goals?

After earning my BA in Religious Studies I went to Mexico for 3 months to travel and study Spanish.  Upon returning to Greensboro I volunteered with Americorps teaching English to adult immigrant women from all over the world.  This led to many more ESOL teaching jobs.  Now as an RN I am grateful for all the experience.

What are your favorite things about the UNCG Religious Studies Department?

Its interdisciplinary approach.
